December 2011 Wallpaper
It’s rare to get a sincere snow here. By sincere I mean, the kind where you wake up in the morning, look out your window and are treated to a completely different landscape. Everything changes. So to close out 2011, here’s to a nice snowy winter. . .
Kirby Derby
Part parade, part drag race, part derby. Really, that’s all I got for this annual (damn near) Raleigh institution. With a new theme every year Kirby Derby’s costumes, floats and derby entries are always entertaining. This will be a bit of a rolling gallery. As events happen and I can go, I’ll update. Enjoy!
New Mexico
It seems like it was a very long time ago, but I think this is the trip that really got me started. Originally this work appeared as part of a 120 Hours show.

So thanks Steve. For everything.
2011 October Wallpaper
This is a shot from a while ago—a long time ago when I think I had the passing thought of perhaps being a wildlife photographer.
The New Camera for Street Photography
It’s so easy to fall down the well of “need great gear to make great pictures.” It’s complicated. But taking pictures shouldn’t be.
August 2011 Wallpaper
I’m not entirely sure why I like it. Is it the weird combination of the industrial and agrarian? The sky? Maybe I’m just happy I snagged it at 70 miles per hour with an iPhone.
2011 July Wallpaper
Sorry for the delay, but I hope it was worth the wait. I was hard at work up north getting this shot for you.
Kirby Derby 2011
This was the big 10 for the Kirby Derby. Didn’t feel like wresting out the big camera so I dusted off the Leica without even knowing what film was in it.
